Introducing the new “hardware codes” feature! Deployed in the latest update, it ensures that even if Wi-Fi fails and new reservations don’t sync to the box, the hotelier can still access a hardware code – allowing the guest to retrieve the key and check in without any issues.
Hardware codes: convenient access even without Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi outages happen. Until now, that meant an unpleasant situation – a guest arrives, the reservation is valid, but without an internet connection, they can’t access the key box. Fortunately, that’s now a thing of the past.
What’s changed?
You can now generate and send a hardware (HW) code to the guest—a backup code for physically opening the box that works completely offline. As long as there is a valid reservation, the code can be generated directly in the app. The guest can then open the box even if no internet connection is available.
How does tt work?
The HW code for a specific reservation is generated manually in the app and then shared with the guest. We recommend having this option ready whenever you’re expecting a guest and aren’t sure about connection stability.
Why is this useful?
A Wi-Fi outage no longer has to mean problems for you or your guests. The HW code acts as a reliable backup plan, ensuring that guests can always access the property – regardless of connectivity. A calm, satisfied guest means fewer worries for you.
